Laying under the old oak tree
I placed you so carefully
Upon the laced pillow.
I never knew what to say that dreary night so...
I felt a that teardrop touch my cheek
As she laid my head upon,
That white laced pillow,
She didn't have to say anything that night,
I saw it all within her eyes,
She kissed my lips that one last time,
Under the old oak tree on a frigid, dreary night....
Lay me down under this oak tree,
Place my head upon this white laced pillow,
Wipe this teardrop from my cheek,
Kiss my lips for one last time.
May you see that this will be the last time
You see me under
The old oak tree on a frigid, dreary night.
