Early one morning in the month of June
A lot of men would meet their doom
As the golden shores drawed near
Not even the most brave could hide their fear
When we reached the beach and the gate dropped
The bullets whizzed by and never stopped
As I fell into the water of dark murky red
My fast beating heart filled with dread
Hollering, screaming, and artillery hitting fast
War is hell, how long will it last?
A sharp strike to the chest and my legs go numb
Looks like my final day has come
I look to the clouds and begin to cry
As I realize I'm about to die...
I pray to the father, the one and only above.
