on the wings of a Bird

There’s a cry that’s been heard.
Reaching the heavens, on the wings of a bird,
Whose feathers are kept by the mighty one
Who sits on a throne above the son.
Upon arrival the bird began to mimic the prayer that she had heard,
A desperate cry for help and a requesting of a word.
It sang a broken-hearted song that danced in the wind.
Full of strife, full of pain, and full of earthly sin.
The bird it moaned with battle groans and hunger cried like thunder.
And the tears they fell upon the earth. The children had been plundered!
Then the bird rent her feathers, and was heavy with sorrow
Cause the pain was too deep and too hard to swallow.
Teach us oh Lord, all that we lack
These things have I carried on the wings of my back.
Through fire and fury, trials and wrath.
My suffering is great but on you I will wait,
I lay at your feet, as you stand at the gate.
And I’ve kept with me your precious word.
The loins of my mind I always gird.
I’ve kept for you my sacred love.
And all that I have heard.
I’m broken now, and don’t know how,
tomorrow’s sun will shine.
Then God touched the wings of the feathered thing,
and said child you are mine!
I brought you far, and here you are, don’t turn to look behind.
Don’t be afraid nor dismayed, it is a renewing of the mind.
With brand new wings and fluffy feathers, the bird; it flew away,
Mimicking the sounds of God, singing todays a brand-new day!
God our creator and maker of ways, the only one deserving of praise.
Say’s pick up your tents and come with me, into the lands I promised thee
Fearing not the things you see, but pick up and go, follow me.
Your vision is blurred, but know I can see
I am with you and, I’m helping you flee.
Take now your place, for your place is with me.
The times I have said this is numbered at three.
I am waiting on you, you’re not waiting on me.
Free yourselves now, the chains have been broke.
It’s now up to you, in removing the yoke.
