She said she came down from the Canadian way
Couldn't stay all that long, maybe a day

As she spoke her beautiful eyes got in the way...
She heard that I'd be laid up for awhile
Could think of a line to write or even reason to smile
A foot strain is no fun when you line to walk
When putting in 8.5 miles a day
Finding a sad one with whom to talk...
It's really a rich bitch when they think you're
The blame for an ignorant ones stupidity
I needed that visit, I needed that smile,
I needed to, even for a short while, to forget
The burning searing pain in my foot
