One Dark Night

Again I tried to go there another day.
They stopped me;
'Dark people live there', they say.
But still, I thought I would try
I knew that again they would lie.
But I didn't believe them.
So, one day I used my brain.
One dark night,
Out of anyone's sight,
I went to that distant bungalow.
And really, no fear I did show.
Silently through the forest gate,
Crossing the river and a lake.
I was so scared, but curious!
There must be something dangerous!!
I reached the bungalow garden atlast.
My heartbeat ran really fast.
I saw the bungalow across the flowerbed,
I recalled each and everything they said.
But I didn't care
I must not be scared.
I slowly walked towards it.
Faster and faster grew my heartbeat.
I crossed the flower bed and reached the door;
Oh my God! I was scared even more!
I gave a knock with my shivering hand,
Nothing happened, just fell some dust and sand.
'So its abandoned', I thought;
And it relieved me a lot.
I pushed it and it broke down,
With a long noise, the door fell on the ground.
It was all dark inside.
Nothing clear, nor left, nor right!
There was a staircase going up.
And I could hear a mild laugh!
And then I saw someone, I was scared
It could be nothing but a nightmare.
And it was so,
Mom woke me up.
She handed me the coffee mug.
'Be patient', I said to me
'A dream, this time, it can be.
But one day, I will really go,
What's so scary, I need to know.
Oh, I would try one day
To prove it wrong, what they say.'
