One Day I Also Will

Seated in my mother's grass hatched hut,
I sipped the thick sugarless fluid in my cup;
The meal of the day this was meant to be,
As out I was going to the well of knowledge,
In over repaired dress with patches behind,
I was going to fetch that wisdom that buys cash.
Mama threw a tearful glance at her girl😣,
'One day you also will...'
The next moment she was lifelessly lying,
On our cow dung made floor;
As a grave so silent she lay,
Succumbed to death they said,
Mama died of poverty, a disease I despise;
She left me nothing but a phrase,
One day I also will....
After mama's humble burial🥴,
No choice was left but for the immature me,
To survive in this nutshell world she left behind,
But still in her last phrase I believe,
One day I also will...
Mama raised me an optimistic girl,
This incomplete phrase of her's I knew meant well;
As one day at her favorite spot I sat,
I believed one day I also would be better,
I would one day build a mansion on that spot,
Own an expensive motor vehicle,
An expansive farm to plant,
A three-times meal plan an issue won't be,
Just as my mama said,
One day I also will...
On this day I'll travel the world,
In the metal bird my village fellows so admire;
That mirror that shows moving images ,
I will have pinned on my wall,
I will eat and drink from golden bowls,
While the less fortunate I forget not,
Because their pain I well understand
One day I also will....
As I reflect back to that awful day now,
Seated comfortably in my sofa bed;
In my fifth mansion just constructed;
And having achieved all I yawned,
The memory of mama's wisdom surface's my mind;
Now I know how to believe in the impossible,
That hope with hard work combined,
Yields miracles so mighty indeed,
Again as just mama said,
This day I also am☺
