Smoke clouds dissipate,
hanging heavier than my heart,
just to disappear like you are.
The strewn cluttered boxes
contrast the bareness
of the blood red walls,
that stand stripped
of the life I once loved.
My voice mirrors the emptiness
as I finally acknowledge
that you are leaving.
My clothes strewn across
your cold floor–
we do this
one last time.
