There was something on his mind,
But he had to try to say it gently, if only the right words he could find.
She doesn't know he is leaving town.
She is just happy to have him around.
So he asked her out one last time,
But she thinks he has other things on his mind.
Like asking her to be his girlfriend.
Little does she know there time is coming to an end.
He bought them some drinks,
It gives him time to think.
But there is no easy way to tell someone goodbye.
He could lie,
But I am sure she will see it through his eyes.
So he sat her down and said "Sara, I have something to tell you."
She looked him straight in the face, and said " okay, what did I do?"
He said " it's not you, it's me."
She started to cry because she felt like this was goodbye again.
He has done this to her before so why should this cycle end.
He said " I am leaving because my job is taking me elsewhere. "
She ran off with a reply " this is not fair."
He didn't get the reaction he thought he would get, but felt relieved.
She was at home crying once again, she felt deceived.
If he knew eventually he was going to leave he shouldn't of got close to her again.
It was his mistake and for that he may have lost a friend.
