One Word

One Word
One word.
That is the question.

Can you really boil down a relationship
to something so small, so singular,
when connection feels anything but?

A relationship is an emotional rollercoaster,
a living thing formed between two people
trying to understand each other at the same time.

What makes it hold?
What makes it fracture?

Is it love,
or trust,
or honesty,
or the courage it takes to be vulnerable?

No.

Those are the emotions we experience within connection—
the reactions, the responses, the echoes of what already exists.
I wouldn't choose those words as the One Word.

And there it is.

Choose.

Choosing to love.
Choosing to trust.
Choosing the person you share the connection with—

or choosing to walk away.
Choosing yourself.
