Gun fire echos
Spent shell's on the floor
The body count is high
Few made it to the door,
Another "Mass" killing
This time a "Terrorist Attack"
Many survivors weep
Other's hokd tears back,
From schools, theathers, to churches
No one is spared
Killers on hell bent sprees
Dead is one whom another cared.
Blacks are killed city after city
Their deaths on the evening news
No one can answer the "Why's"
Just give their endless views,
No one can when
These senseless deaths will end
All we can do is stand with them
Their given rights defend,
Police are under the microscope
Now trusted by few
When you look back in history
None of this is new.
On college campuses
Across the U.S.
The system is broken
In a complete mess,
Students cry out for change
They gather to protest
We want respect, We want change
Old ways are put to the test,
Will change eventually come?
Maybe, maybe in time
Maybe in your lifetime
I pray hopefully in mine.
