OUR FREEDOM

Like old beggars under the sun
Coughing like hags
Waking up from memories
Marching to our unseen future
Our uniform is rags
As we passed through the thick sludges
Bearing the burden of freedom.
'Freedom' became a thing of yesterday
As men and women began to trudge
From the place, we call home.
Our citizens became refugees in another country
Our lands flowing with mineral resources
Now filled with the blood of the innocent
All has gone blind and lame
Not knowing what tomorrow holds
All became drunkards
As the future seems not to become
War is hell! We proclaimed.
Laughter has been drowned out
Death of the unconquerable soul is too many to count
Our beautiful homes
Has become a habitation for the fowlers
Our labour comes crashing down before our eyes
We must soon declare our war on their war.
We must hold to our last piece of ground.
We must protect the land that has allowed us live.
And, fighting for our freedom, we are free.
We will Rebuild the ruined cities.
And re-possess our possession.
War is our scourge, yet war has made us wise
The horror of wounds and anger at the foe
The anguish of the earth exempts our eyes
Till beauty shines in all that we can see.
We will stand and protect our mother's land
We will not deter or surrender.
Our freedom is ours, it belongs to us
And it shall not be taken away.
