Outlook

My outlook on the world wears me like a gown
It wraps around my shoulders and drapes down
Though I contemplate if I'm bright or a blight
I must realize who I am is what I write
When I let my opinion, my insight, and views
Run rampant throughout the universe so true
Though some may shake arms with their fists and scowl
It can never change the way I see the whole
It's a maddening reality that my opinion of life
Can render me either joyous or fraught with strife
Yet no one can dictate what I decide to do
When I let my thoughts reflect the world I view
No amount of forced smiles or attempts to deceive
Can alter the hopes and dreams I choose to believe
Though others may sway me, my core values stay same
It's my outlook on the world that makes me who I am.
