Over the Cliff into the Air

nothing was seen but a lonely road
long and grey and covered with dirt.
I heard it, the laughter
and the feeling of humiliation was here again
now I could hardly see my eyes were stuffed.
but all I could hear was a choir singing Amen.
I blinked and blinked it was finally clear.
higher above the trees stood a host of angels
white garments they wore.
finally the edge of the cliff appeared.
there it was again hunting me
deep voices and laughter.
I got the energy, strong like electricity.
the current flowed within me
the voice hummed in my ears complicit
to what I'm about to do.
the angels sang louder and I was filled with power.
the voices were powerful
I grabbed the wheel my hands cold.
the engine screamed angrily.
I couldn't wait until I'm old.
the road was fogg
the dirt lifted up into the air.
when it died down the road was clear.
over the cliff into the air.
