PAIN I NEVER EXPECTED
Pain I never expected.
You treated me as though I were your own,
made me feel I had finally arrived
that this was the end of my searching.
But it wasn’t.
You made me believe
that good people truly exist,
filled my life with light,
with joy, with moments that felt like home.
Then, without warning,
you became my disappointment.
Now I question everything.
I no longer believe in goodness so easily.
I am left speechless,
standing alone in the silence.
I have no one to lean on,
no words strong enough to explain the loss.
You shattered my hope,
fractured the life I was building.
I don’t know if I will ever trust again
you broke my trust into pieces
and walked away from the ruins.
