They say you always start from somewhere,
But nowhere was where I was born
And when I crawled and begged for the scraps I'd bleed to get
All I could offer was your face to draw
But no one ever kissed or spared some change
No one ever bought from the crazy man hidden in shame
But still I dipped my brush and painted on
Everything made from my blood, tears and the nights that carried on
And when I opened up my house no one but one came
I'd never felt more alone until that day
I turned my eyes to the starry sky
And drew the lights in new light
Every cry and hurtful thought, I painted it all in the ones that love the sun
I died by my own hand, never knowing if I could be loved
And still I sit wondering, if someone will ever admire my art
Yours truely, Van Gogh
