With windows closed, lights off everyone took a rest
No word of grace, all lost to peaceful dreams
With aspirations and fantasies of what they would do next morning
All a sweven, churches closed, schools closed
No more work, no more pay, no more sports, no more gatherings
Drug became the abuse, as peer pressured
Girls started roaming
No pad, no cup; menstrual on the door
In groups boys and men sat
Who's our next victim? They asked
As smoke lingered through the air, weed was all they burnt.
Sex was the song of the day
And every boy competed on the number of girls a day
Pregnancy became a pandemic as HIV knocked on innocent souls.
No food ,No rent ; Floods all over
Stones on a sufuria, water on a jug
Hungry children cried, for tears was all they could afford.
Pain made half of us, suicide offered refuge
For in a pandemic were small little bruises that intensely burnt more than the pandemic itself; mental health.
