Path to Freedom
I was lost forever in a trance
My brain doing a chaotic dance
Jumbled images; mismatched wording
My brain was messed up, always hurting
I knew I had to get far away
From the disaster of every day
To a place that's calm and trouble free
To start anew I can guarantee
How do I make it happen for me
How can I open my eyes to see
The right path to take so I can find
The long lost concept of peace of mind
Find the right circle of friends so dear
The ones who stuck with me through each year
Through the good times and even the bad
Especially when I was so mad
Through them I got the help I needed
My mental wounds were getting treated
Having brighter days to look forward to
To them much thanks is forever due
Now everything is crystal clear
I know I have nothing else to fear
No apprehension and no more pain
From here on out the rest is a gain
