PATHS OF BARREN SORROW

PATHS OF BARREN SORROW
Stanza 1
Night’s breath flees fast through the ribs of stone and frost,
Dry bones drag bare on the ground where shadows are tossed;
Pale skin clings tight to flesh that knows no warmth,
Waves weep low at feet where cold sands swarm.

Stanza 2
I call for the moon to soothe my sorrow’s sting
But only ravens shriek on the iron wing;
A clock ticks deep inside my throbbing brain,
No wine can wash away what drives me insane.

Stanza 3
So I’ll tread paths where life has turned grey,
Through barren lands that hunger for the clay;
Before death claims my form in shadow spun,
I seek what life has carved in the cold, dark sun...🌘✨01122026 ©LanZhan
