Permanence in Jealousy

I bare a heaviness within my soul
that brings me doubt and swallows whole
the hope of this once innocent girl
who's homemade dress would bound and twirl.
Such grace she had in her own world.
Gods bowed their heads, to her they hurled
their golden hearts and gilded beams
that made her shake like haunting dreams.
Her purest light was purer yet
and touched her deep. Did she forget
the broken sun that fails to set?
The laughing moon, the flying jet.
The opened space between the stars.
The strangers passing in their cars.
The dangers still, for this is fate
that cause my soul to separate
into a million fractures which
poke and prod the throbbing switch
that threatens to turn off my peace
and prep the hounddogs for their feast.
It's festering, this guilt in me
it infiltrates my chance to free
the lonely child inside of me.
Her innocence will always be
a perminance in jealousy.
