Letter to HHP:
By_ the unapologetic poet
I don't know why I'm writing this
I guess they right i love the dead
Because this letter comes after another death.
It shouldn't be you receiving this today
Normally gets dedicated to others
Who never deserved a parade
But you my friend were never meant to die at such a young age.
I remember the first track like yesterday
The flow the backtrack all linking
It was so insane I even danced to the rhythm of the song motswako's originator
All gone in vain.
They claim it's depression that took you,
The pressure the fame got to you,
Behind close doors you'd cry yourself
to the point you'd sink in your tears
Was all of that true?
I guess I'll never know I'll just follow too
Live from your past and what you wrote
For those you met in your journey in your path and those you'd left your legacy our king of rap you just didn't know what you had.
How it happened, where it all started
My myself will never know or understand
I just hope you knew even in your darkness what you'd produced in the past was still fresh in our head's.
If only you also told someone how you felt, how cold your heart was when no gigs would line up, maybe just maybe someone close to you would've released a track to help you stay strong and live to see the promise land.
It's all I had to say, I don't expect a reply
I know you gone but I just had to see you off and thank you also for helping me feel bold in writing and rapping in languages I was never taught, today I'm proud to be different because you made the difference you HHP were the difference.
Robala ka kgotso kgosi a le notshi
RIP.
