Picking Leaves outside my backyard.
I thought I was getting somewhere at first.
I have a fascination about nature, trees, and flowers.
Two days ago I was picking leaves outside my backyard.
Taking down leaves placing them
Into Ziploc bags.
Curiosity kept me busy.
I placed a bunch of leaves
In Ziploc bags.
But curiosity kept me so busy.
It kept me busier and busier.
I placed a bunch of leaves in
Ziploc bags.
I kept getting curious and curiouser.
Once I put them in bags, I did some Research and read
about making trees into salads and usage of storage.
The young,
The tender leaves,
trees like the beech,
birch,
Chinese elm,
fennel,
mulberry,
hawthorne,
sassafras, and linden
can be tossed into a salad.
They say you can pick and eat them fresh off a tree.
But after putting them all in
Ziploc bags,
taking them into the house,
Rinsing them off
Delicately,
And placing the leaves in the bowl
And putting Ranch
Dressing on them, and also shredded cheese and carrots on top.
It looked fresh and delish.
But when I took a bite of
The leafy salad😊.
I ended up spitting it out of
My mouth 😵.
The leaves that I picked out from the tree outside my house was terribly nasty when I tasted it.
It was so disgusting, I ended up calling my boyfriend and telling him the stupidest and dumpest thing I did.
He told me no one
is not supposed to eat leaves off of trees, but I did my research?
He informed me leafy foods are often sprayed before they go
In the markets.
I say for now on, I just buy leaves at the grocery store and make
My own salad with them, which is a regular lettuce salad that we can eat.
No more picking leaves out of trees and eating them no more.
