Picture Album

Smooth the plastic upon the picture,
memories added to the book, disdainful smiles
from the flash, all emotions that you took. A
caption trapped in a moment, another page
that you turn, on this sleeve stands my heart,
a valuable lessons learned.
Pull the Polaroid from its shell, as a shaky
memory appears, extracted love from the heart,
a clouded judgement full of fear. Plug up the
cord from the hoist, pick myself up off the
floor, start the rebuilding of these walls, the
opening of new doors
All these snapshots that your selling,
like the dreams you promised me, everything
envisioned on the surface, isn't always what
it seems. Portraying your exemption from my
life, keeping a flash drive of memories, a
pictorial through a shattered lens, no more
living a life in misery.
As I slide the final portrait under plastic,
discard the album upon the shelf, withdrawing
myself from all pictures, your better alone all
by yourself.. Then the start of a brand new
album, in my heart you finish last, smooth the
plastic over your picture, leaving your memory
in the past. ~VeepLee~
