Slim pickings this morning and after I got paid all I had enough for was pizza Reese's and Gatorade
These times are very disturbing no jobs no money just very bad I worked all day picking up garbage just to eat it makes me mad
People look at me dirty clothes not shaving they think I’m a bum they lock the doors bar the windows just because I'm homeless I'm some kind of scum
I never stolen anything in my life I worked hard for everything I have but I do carry a knife
The streets isn’t safe for any one alone and I protect myself if needed buy the best protection I have is my phone
I never go in the dark scary alleys by myself that's insane just asking for trouble like getting hit in the head with a cane
There's no jobs for men like me so I work odds and ends jobs that pay nothing but it keeps food in my belly it is only a little but at least it is something
Just like in every part of life you have the good and the bad you can't judge people buy one that's just downright sad
Most of us are hard-working family members that just fell on hard times they scratch for every penny nickel and dimes
I'm a man I have feelings and it hurts when I see people scared of me homeless that I may be and I sleep outside in the heat in the cold in the rain I'm lucky if I get to sleep in a tree
I won’t quit I'll work until they put me in the grave I won't take handouts I'm a proud man I'm no slave
I'm a free man I owe nobody nothing I pay for my food I take care of my own I don't need anything
