The scent of foilage at the verge,
with the lingering of a musky sachet
flowing in to every place it could,
on grounds with toys made of clay,
or plastic, or steel and some of wood,
where mothers let their children play
and promised treats if they were good.
seesaws nestled heavy in the dust
made by the tiny scampering feet
of little ones awaiting turns to teeter
on well worn planks with wooden seat,
or plastic, steel or some much neater,
staying near for a chance repeat
of ups and downs on this two seater
spring coiled horses stable in place,
some in a full and complete rebound,
with cowboys rocking to and fro
on steeds of metal, holding ground,
or some of plastic just for show,
where cameras always can be found,
taking photos while they grow
