PLEASE FORGIVE ME MOM  (Part Three)

I would stand there looking at Dad  (it was hard to see him cry) and you would stand there waiting for me  to hold him, to comfort him, and to tell him that it was going to be alright
and that I wouldn't hurt either
of you anymore.

But I couldn't do that since I was just  a little boy who knew so little,  really nothing at all,
about being a good boy (am I a good boy now, Mom) or about
how not to hurt the two of you.

When I was young, I wanted to believe  (it was so hard to believe) that the lessons would end that there would be no more life lessons for me to have to learn, that I would grow up to be a good boy.

But now that I am a sick, broken, and empty man, I have come to realize  (I am sorry, Mom but I still can't stop crying) that life lessons never end.
