Poem C

My love, whose heart shall be at rest,
Drew in last breath within their sleep;
My soul forever theirs to keep,
Beneath silken cloth and fading breast.
Bust as her body turns to dust,
Angels sing beyond my ear;
And though I shed a single tear,
My eyes are shadowed, burnt with rust.
Whilst I sit to rue, lament,
The sweetest nectar numbs the pain:
The devil softly speaks my name.
With no time left, I must repent,
Else face the sins I've come to blame
And allow them to define your name.
