I met a Girl Today on my way to the West
While I was coming from the East
Oh!such a girl with a cherry smile at ease
Her kind within a four full moon my eyes have never seen
Eyes of mine were lost in her eyes
At last my heart was filled with joy
I looked at her like it was going to be my last and rejoiced
"I Met A Girl Today"
But I hope she knows that she is beautiful
Although beauty doesn't lies on one's face
But the landscape of beauty runs on her face
With a lightening skin tone she owns
I believe she got it shininess from the Venus stars at night sky
If every Son of Man have her kind to be admiring everyday
No Son of Man will ever become a Gay
I am glad that "I Met A Girl Today"
Identity of the black race on her skin you will find
She possesses the smile of Freedom from Slavery
A smile that is so soft, pure, pleasant and kind
Her smile reminded of a freed slave name Freeman
And all I wanted to be was to be her righthand Man
No hello nor hey but I became jealous
Jealous of seeing her happily walking the street with another Man
"I Met A Girl Today"
