I'll decipher the words
my heart pumps out silently
Voiceless but brave
and ready to be known
There's only one way
to do it painstakingly
poetry has the power to
connect the dots and zoom
Every stroke of the pen
and flash of ideas
All the memories and scars
of the forgotten past
They come to life and speak up
reminding me to be real
And poetry is the outlet
to express what I truly feel
