I

POETRY SAVED ME,LITERALLY 📝

It all begun in the fifth grade
when i used to write down everything I felt on a crumbled page
although i was too young in terms of age
I needed to cool of my minor interior rage
I noticed i was different from other children
all I needed was a pencil and page to fuse out my adrenalin
The other kids would cry their lungs out when they were hurting
but i would just suck my tears in and continue scribbling and writting
I grew up with my feelings tangled into alphabets
my teachers said its toxic
all I cared about was my rhyming words
because to my ears poetry was my music
growing up like that made me feel different
But i carried on with my pen and my paper and i let them speak their own accent
poetry became an addiction more like a depressant
at school my mind was always absent but my body was always present
Poetry has been my drug ever since
It never betrays me in any means
unlike humans that we call friends
that would kill you without thinking twice
so thank you poetry for being the shade in the scorching sun
thank you for being the one the only one
thank you for unloading the problems on my shoulders that weighed more than a ton
once again thank you for being the one the only one 📝
