The poets have a doctrine,
A creed that guides their pen,
A way to capture beauty,
And share it with all men.
They see the world with wonder,
And find the magic there,
They take the common moments,
And make them bright and rare.
The poets have a wisdom,
That others can't attain,
They look at life with new eyes,
And see what's often plain.
They speak of love and heartache,
Of joy and all its woes,
And through their words we feel it,
The emotions that they chose.
They turn the mundane to magic,
And make the simple shine,
Their words are like a lantern,
That guides us through the night.
The poets have a doctrine,
A faith in all that's true,
And through their art they show us,
The beauty that we knew.
For though the world is chaotic,
And often filled with strife,
The poets show us beauty,
And bring us back to life.
