A poet's laws are writ in ink,
On pages blank, without a blink,
They speak of love, of loss, of life,
Of all that cuts us like a knife.
The poet's law is to be true,
To seek the light and find the hue,
Of all the shades that life can bring,
And to the page their essence sing.
To capture moments, small and grand,
To write with heart, to understand,
The human plight, the joy, the pain,
And make them live on page again.
The poet's law is to create,
To take the world and recreate,
In language pure, in words that soar,
And leave the reader wanting more.
To break the rules, to bend and shape,
To make a statement, strong and great,
To move the mind, to stir the soul,
And make the reader feel whole.
The poet's law is to inspire,
To light a spark, to raise the fire,
To make us see the world anew,
And find the beauty in the true.
So let the poet's laws guide us,
And let our words be full of trust,
That in the ink, our hearts we pour,
And make the world a little more.
