Poets, Preach Up

Oh, poets, let us preach up to the skies,
And sing of all that's good and true and fair,
Let every word we write be full of wise,
And set the world ablaze with holy care.
For in our words we hold the power to heal,
To lift the spirits of the troubled soul,
To make the wounded heart again to feel,
And bring the broken parts back to the whole.
We must not let our voices fall to waste,
For there is much that needs to be made right,
And in the beauty of our art, we taste
The sweetness of a world that's bathed in light.
So poets, let us take up pen and ink,
And write our hearts out, never once to shrink.
