Polyxena

Polyxena
Am I dying or living?
My recklessness has cost me the light that beckons my hopes.
My friends are strangers to me now;
you may wonder, I too wonder why my mind has become my foe.

I've come to love her just as I loved the other;
is this what I was made for? I wonder.
To be hurt and healed without reflection's touch,
as my heart leaps into a one-way spree.

I've befriended the fiery feelings,
a mix of liquid and emotions, flowing through my veins,
blurring the vision of my already obscured sight,
like teardrops from heaven, bleeding from clouds of longing and rejection.

Am I dying or living?
All I can see is a boy turned to a creature,
slain by the demise of her love,
broken by the weight of my devotion,
monking over her statues, devoted and humble.
I've loved her just as I once loved the other.
