Many if not all who write here have been asked this question. Many would answer that writing is their escape, their only way to feel better, and some to inspire.
In my case, writing came from nowhere. It came as a friend, holding a red umbrella in the middle of the rain. Writing is my way of coming to the eye of the storm without being soaked to the flood.
I didn't write something for someone to notice. If they don't read it, it's okay. If they do, then that's better.
I write to learn, I write to satisfy myself. It's me who's giving the words, but it's also me who is getting a glimpse to how others see things. You give the data, then you learn how readers think by how they interpret your writings.
When I write something, as much as possible, I relate it to something real. Be it in my experience, or by someone I knew. I don't mind if you don't want to read about love, I don't mind if you don't want to read about it.
It's my thing, it's my way. It's my genre.
Sure, you can suggest, you can critique my works. It's with criticisms that artists learn.
I am writing what I feel, what I know is right, even if you hate it, or if you don't read it.
Schistus writes because everyone has a story to be told. As long as there's a story untold, she will be there. Trying to pen it, she will exist. SHe will be there as a sanctum, a comfort zone, a sunflower when everything becomes a bloody rose field drenching with a rain of tears.....
