In the sight of God and man
I say my prayer without an amen
To prove the disunity of words
With man!
I listened to many voices speaking for one,
Every echo claimed to be your sound,
I was obedient to sounds that hit my desperations so loud,
Hoping that in the end,for my obedience I'll be proud!
In the dead of night,I'd say my pitiful prayers,
And dawn would find my lips still moving due to the thick layers of my prayers,
They were long and too long to see even when they are answered!
What if I've uttered words in vain?
well, thanks be to the few verses stuck in my head,
Birthing hope in the lines of peace and silence of wars,
For deed and thought will war no more together!
Pray, but only when you're ready to act,
Except,
When that "act" means something different from taking a stand,
Don't pretend,
Move with your lips ,let your feets
Take you to your destiny you've uttered!
