They'll see the tears you cry,
And the pain etched in your eyes,
But they'll turn a blind eye,
And claim it's just your disguise.
They'll know they've caused you harm,
But they'll never take the blame,
Instead, they'll sound the alarm,
And say you're the one to shame.
They'll say you're overreacting,
Or that you're too sensitive,
Ignoring the pain you're packing,
Making it seem like it's your fault you're not resolute.
They'll know they've hurt you,
But they'll pretend they haven't,
Putting the blame on your breakthrough,
So they can avoid feeling chastened.
But you know the truth,
And that's all that really matters,
You'll break the cycle of uncouth,
And move on to brighter chapters.
You'll live like a river,
Flowing freely without any regrets,
No longer will you quiver,
Or worry about unmet debts.
For rivers don't go reverse,
And neither will you,
You'll push through the pain and curse,
And rise to a life that's true.
