The last day on Earth a prisoner will remember with bitterness and sorrow.
The sweet taste of life will quickly die out,
and leave that body of his by taking last air and breath;
just a few remaining drops of faith
will not be enough to resist this unjust fight.
But he knows his time is about to end.
He is still alive, but he feels completely dead inside,
and soon he will die for real.
Everything he had hoped for is gone,
everything he loved and believed in will die with him.
His dreams full of hope will always, unfortunately, remain in the past forgotten.
He has no battles these days,
only the last one that follows. Time is ticking, ready or not, his time is running out.
When the guards come to his cell to take him,
he kneels and prays one last time,
preparing to cross this world safely.
He doesn't cry, he gives up and surrenders,
his face is cold as steel, he wears a mask
that, no one can sees his pain and fear.
He walks in silence, ready to accept
his punishment without violence.
Frightened and lonely he faces this charade and regrets the bad
choices he once made.
He grieves, and seeks forgiveness, he is afraid,
but he knows finally all his sins will be paid off.
