May the glory of India shine
From Sun to the moon , with stars align
May the glory of our unity thrive
From across the world , with stars align
It all started when the British ruled
When cruelty, injustice and inequality were approved
With people who didn't get to eat their meals
And unkind people who took credit of our hardships
Until a few people revolted
And questioned the evil policies of the British
They gathered an army
And went against their wish
Those people who rose a raging fire of freedom
In the hearts of every Indian
They came to be known as the Freedom fighters
And the leaders of our freedom struggle
Lakhs of people sacrificed their lives
For us to lead a free life
With hopes for us to persue our dreams
Like a free bird in a bright sky
So let us all remember the people
Who sacrificed their lives for us
And salute them on the 15th of August
In front of our soaring flag
And be proud of our heritage, and say
"I AM PROUD TO BE AN INDIAN....."
