Have you not been listening, can you not hear their screams?
Is it truly just inside my head, these hauntings in my dreams?
Have you had your eyes closed, can you not see them in that place?
Is it really all a figment of imagination, the marred look upon his face?
Can you not feel their presence, can you not sense their pain?
With every single drop of blood, how is it you feel rain?
Can you not smell the burning, the searing of their flesh?
And yet you all still ask me, "why can you never rest?"
Is this all just make believe, this Hell I'm going through?
How can it be so when in my faith I have always remained true?
Am I going crazy, have I sincerely just gone mad?
Why do their spirits torture me, leaving me blue and straight up sad?
Can you not see my suffering, do you not share my hurt?
All those men and women that I see, died for your worthless dirt.
How can you be so bitter, how can you truly be so cold?
The sacrifice they gave for you, with their stories never told.
Why do you feel so special, what makes you feel so high above.
You've never known a soldiers true heart, never felt their love.
Their unwavering belief in the people they all defend.
They took bullets, shrapnel, fire for you the ones who never bend.
And for what, your pity? For your sorrow? Or your guilt?
Why do you think they did it, took the lives of those they killed?
Did they do it for the glory, did they do it for the fame?
I sincerely think not, none of you know a single name...
Did they do it for the money, did they do it for the pay?
That's even harder to believe since they have little in their bank, so to say.
No, they did it for YOUR freedom and the ones of whom they loved.
They rest forever in Valhalla so that you may rise above.
But you all have failed them and the possibility they set before you.
With your whining, bickering and your malice, I know this to be true.
You've let them down completely, filling your life with your lazy ways.
Wasting away in front of your TV's and computers, wasting all your days.
The ones they paid for with their blood so that you may know peace.
These are just some of the many reasons I will never know release.
Because of your foul words, cruel intentions to your fellow man.
You'll never know the love they bore for you, you'll never understand.
Until you dawn that beret, until you swear that oath.
You will possibly always be just another scumbag that I loath.
Prove me wrong, all of you, show me my brothers hadn't died in vain.
For as it stands within this moment, to my existence, you are my bane.
