I listened closely to the familiar sound.
A sound that I rehearsed over and over in my head as a young girl.
I understood your every emotion. Each drop drowning out the next.
When you were angry, I heard the Earth cry. Even the roof got it's fair share.
And when you were sad I heard the leaves carrying your pain through its veins.
I understood you.
There were days when you greeted me at the window, sweet symphony on the window pane.
How fascinating, I thought.
Now my youthful years have passed with yesterdays breeze.
Now I spend my time hiding.
Under your tears I hide mines. Each drop, slowly taken away by yours. Perfect duo.
In you I conceal my pain.
How selfish I've become with age and I hate myself for it.
But you never changed.
As faithful as the sun, you remained my very best.
You are my sun.
Thank you, rain.
