The Raven was your chosen Spirit
Freed to roam this Earth
Who carried to the gods above
The announcement of your birth.
In this land of the living
The Raven watched over you
It shared your secrets with the gods
And all that you would do.
In the darkness of the Night
As you floated through oceans and streams
The Raven was called by the gods
To steal away your dreams.
The knocking of the Raven
Grew louder as you grew old
And your tales that it once told the gods
Were tales long gone cold.
In time the shrill call of the Raven
Rang loud as Death walked by
Letting the gods above us know
That you were going to die.
I felt the Ravens shallow breath
As yours slowly died away
And now it tells tales to the Gods
Of your resurrection day.
