what if the love I thought would save me
drowns me
what if I realize
how much oxygen I'm lacking
is it wrong for me to seek escape
to find a new route to take
will I be judged
will I be hated
will I even care at this point
not all loves last a lifetime
not all fights lead to victory
if the feeling isn't right
then there is no more need to fight
I'm waving my white flag
I'm taking my loses
I have no regrets
no grudges will I hold
I'm simply ready to move on
move on with me and be who I have always wanted to be
I've said it before and I will say it again
a bird in a cage only has one thought
a thought I so wish to be
and that is free.
