I used to be legally blind.
I felt like the world left me behind.
Everyday I woke in frustration, reaching for my glasses.
In school I couldn't see the board and flunked some of my classes.
Couldn't make eye contact from more than a few feet away.
So I kept my head down and went on my way.
I've recently had my vision corrected and now I finally see.
I never once felt appreciation
for the things I could see.
If I hadn't felt sorry for myself.
I Can Only Imagine where I could be.
For the rest of my life.
I will never forget to see
The gift that appreciation
Bestowed upon me.
