Hidden away
at the back of her mind
is that perilous thought,
"Will he leave me behind?"
"Will he go his own way,
leaving me here?"
Well she is in distress
cause that is what she fears.
This pains him to see her this way.
It kills him to see her sad
knowing what is on her mind;
doubting their love
and fearing that he will leave her.
All it would take
to calm her agitation
is a few simple words
every so often,
reassuring her that
she shouldn't be afraid
and he will not leave her.
She may seem paranoid
and you may laugh at her
but she needs to be sure.
I suppose that she must be somewhat insecure?
But so many times he tried,
so many times he cried;
he will never leave her
he will never walk away.
She wears his heart around her neck
so that is where it must stay.
