Regrets

Regrets are what I think when
descisions were made
Oh, not by me but for me.
I regret ever having innocence
and I regret my naiveity.
I regret for the fear I held,
the fear which held me down
from growing up and for growing up.
Is it my regret that holds me now,
or am I breaking the shackles
which held once my life?
"No," I cried.
I awoke prespirating and tearing,
from a dream that was real, and could become to where it lead,
my lost life.
I froze my heart, with just a bleeding hole.
For I couldn't kill the little empathy I have.
The reason again became my fear of becoming a monster.
I buried them, my past and regrers, my fear and love,
and I journeyed a single path, by being cynical and practical.
I bothered not for all but few I hold dear, but I distanced a mile from what I once was.
Then came those that searched for my innocence, my naiveity, my fears, and my faults, but found none.
For the wall I built stalled 'em,
but I continue to break
everyday a metal of the shackle that binds me.
I am there, nearly there
to be the warrior against me.
It is I, that are fighting with
my faults with my sucesses,
my regrets with my self-decisions,
my naiveity with my curiosity.
I shall either win or lose,
but the has come forth
that either will unveil
fruits I sowed and not sown for me.
