My destination is in your direction
travelling a crowded train
and i desperately panic in my need for space
both hot and cold i shake
anticipatimg your rejection
imaging your embrace
I see the pity in a little boys eyes
as they tell me go home
Start again
Be happy.
Violently i hiss my putrid disdain
and tell tell him sadly
No.
the child shrugs and looks away
he turns his back on me
and my knees go weak.
I hate you as I remember your face
and I sense the fear in this surrounding crowd
and spot the perfect woodstick matches
in my hand
and the grease I spill on the floor
The train jolts
and I breathe a little relief that suddenly
I got some space.
