Relations

Sometimes I wonder if our chemistry ever expires. The symbols of affection we once exchanged have since grown dull. Even the sincerity in your voice no longer sounds as gentle to my ear buds as it once used to. That smile of yours that used to charm my heart, now confuses me while simultaneously igniting an inner fit of rage. Despite all my efforts to satisfy your greedy desires, I find myself still lacking in many areas. This lack strangles my thoughts at night when I attempt to get some much needed shut eye. Before I know it I find my skin crawling at the very thought of catching a glimpse of you. You have taxed me completely both mentally and emotionally. Day-by-day my ignorance towards your depression, enlarges the bubble that separates you and I. But one day an epiphany exploded in my lap. It became clear to me that trying to fix what was long broken would prove to be futile. Little did we know, but our relationship's expiry date had long surpassed its expectation. The rubble that's left over in the aftermath is nothing other than fading memories of temporary happiness we once shared so selfishly.
