REPENTANCE

Slit my throat with your blade of truth.
That I may bleed the blood of my abomination.
For I,the seed of the holy father,
Have been wrapped cold in the cloak of sin.
Now I smell filthiness on my skin.
But I,in deep regret, have come again to be washed clean.
You enrolled me in a college to study your laws,
But I went on to pursue a different course.
Where I graduated in iniquity.
Now I dwell in the shadow of guilts.
But I've come to feed at your table of forgiveness.
Please give me a second scene in your salvation movie.
That I may act the part for repentance.
I lay myself at your feet as a dirty cloth
I confess my faults; I vomit my flaws,
To you wise and just judge.
Let my head again feel the touch of your hands.
And my body the hug of your arms.
For I'm tired of covering my weak bones with biscuit flesh.
Just to look appealing in the eyes of mere mortal men.
I therefore on this day, throw away the mask of pretence,
And the burdens of sagging conscience.
To repent for all my conscious and unconscious deeds
Inorder to renew our divine deal.
