sidewalks cracked uneven
a rose grows
sunlit petals devour light
thirst the roots in sediment
nothing impeding the meaning
just a rose
it reaches sky bound blue
red against concrete gray
every day closer to vanishing
persists to stay
shadows at night glimmer
morning dew on leaves green cling
a vanishing view oh little rose
beautiful and gone so true
