The gun pressed to my temple
A soul bearing the weight of my life
One trembling finger deciding my fate
Multiple words escape my executioner's lips
Dying by the hand of a forgotten ghost
Subtle movements remind me of my family
I wish for them to sleep in peace
The gun shot will surely wake them
Time is precious as it forges onwards
I belive his courage is slipping from his grasp
Doubts of his resolve make him seem weak
"I knew you wouldn't have it in you."
Speaking these words of truth
Causing angst within his convulsing emotions
Time to end this child's play
In one swift motion I take the gun from his limp hand
Turning the tides of our fragile fates
His eyes are an open book of fear
I stare into his malleable soul
"Leave kid. Do not force me to kill anymore."
He tears his gaze and runs out the back door
Another night of malice ends
This is my life on a day to day basis
The life of a reformed crime boss
